While the unique design and customization of the Tripp Trapp is a boon to some, Stokke understands that not everyone needs a thousand choices to make for their high chair. That is why they developed the Clikk! The stunning, lightweight and simple to put together high chair is a great alternative to the more luxe option and includes a lot of the pieces the Tripp Trapp does not. While it does not offer a newborn or adult option, it is a phenomenal high chair for use during the few years where you absolutely need one. It is eminently cleanable, with full wipe-down surfaces and a dishwasher safe tray. Stokke offers a machine washable cushion, sold separately, to keep kiddo cozy.

While it isn’t as focused on longevity, the Clikk is ingeniously portable. Its legs pop off with ease and they offer a separate travel bag to ensure that you can easily transport when traveling as a family. 

The Stokke Steps High Chair

If you’re somewhere in between needing ease of use and longevity, the Steps may be for you! Less tools are needed to convert between ages and its design allows for almost as much long-term use as the Tripp Trapp!

The Stokke Steps shares a lot of features with the Tripp Trapp. Because it was not developed by famed designer Peter Opsvik in the 70s, it has a significantly easier assembly more akin to modern high chairs, and its design is much more modern as well. It requires no tools for adjustments, which allows for easy transitions between stages as kiddo grows. It also starts at newborn with a bouncer attachment that allows you to pull it to the table. It then transitions to a similarly cleanable seating arrangement, with 5 point harness and optional cushion. 

The Clikk is the only chair sold exclusively as a bundle with the tray and harness, whereas the Steps and Tripp Trapp are sold in multiple configurations:
