If you love word games…

When we were first getting ready to open the store, I was crushed to discover that “25 Words or Less” was out of print. This family game is one of my all-time favorites, and I’ve spent many hours playing with family and friends, including a memorable 9 hour bus ride through Eastern Europe with the Zamir Chorale of Boston.

I’m particularly thrilled that Winning Moves has reintroduced this fabulous game for 2006, and I would encourage game-lovers to pick it up. The game is played in teams, and each round, a representative from each team looks at a card containing five words. The team representatives review the words together and then bid the number of clue words they think they will need to use to prompt their team to say each of the words on the card. The lowest bidder gets the task, and if s/he can stay below the bidded amount, that team gets the card. First team to 10 cards wins.

It’s such a simple concept, but really hilarious and fun to play. It’s best with teens and adults, but I have seen younger children (8 and up) participate with some help and flexibility.
