What do moms really want for Mother’s Day? Magic Beans moms on staff weigh in
Given how needy kids (and especially babies) are, the rest of the year is all about them – but Mother’s Day is all about you! Flowers and chocolates are always nice, but when Babble polled their staff on what they wanted for Mother’s Day, the traditional gifts didn’t even make an appearance:
As for our moms on staff, I wasn’t surprised to find that most of these gals just want to enjoy the people and things that they love: exercise, gardening, melted cheese, and grandbabies!

My birthday was yesterday, and my husband got me a pack of classes to Flywheel, which is my new obsession. I would love to go to a class with him for Mother’s Day, and then go to the public gardens to ride the swan boats with him and my daughter Reese.
Also, vests are my obsession these days. I would love this one to wear to Flywheel and hanging around the city with Reese! It is so functional and cool-looking.

For Mother’s Day, I like to do activities with my husband and boys (ages 9 and 12). I love to garden, and take advantage of every opportunity to play in the dirt! After this winter, I am very eager and excited to get out and garden.
For Mother’s Day I would like some new gardening goodies, and new flowers to add to the landscapes of our yard. Every time I see colorful blooms, I think of the all the gifts that being a mother has brought me!

I’m looking forward to a gift card/date night to The Melting Pot in Darien. I LOVE dates at the Melting Pot. They have intimate seating for two, which is a nice change from our typical family diner outing. And they only serve fondue! You start with cheese and end with chocolate. There isn’t anything better! Seriously, though. Their beer cheese appetizer is to die for.
Editor’s note: would someone please take me there? (drools)

The most wonderful gift that I have ever received for anything is my granddaughter Brynn. She is healthy, happy and beautiful. I need nothing else, unless it is a sister or brother for Brynn.
