Name that tune?

International Playthings, distributor of the popular Calico Critters, is having a songwriting contest. Kids are invited to try their hand at creating a Calico Critters anthem by composing new lyrics to the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” Entry forms are available for download at their website. Completed entries can be dropped off in our store or mailed directly to International Playthings. The grand prize, an impressive Cloverleaf Corners Department Store, will be awarded to winners from two age groups, under 5 and over 6.

For those who are not familiar with Calico Critters, they are a collection of small, fuzzy animals that are sold in families or sets with tiny little accessories. My older daughter, who is almost four, is completely crazy about them. She can play with them for hours on end. They are really nice, wholesome fun. No batteries, just lots of plastic and imagination. The quality is really outstanding, though, and the details are amazing. I’ve never seen such a small tomato.
