Giggle Gear, aptly named

Mega MasksEarlier this year, a company called Big Boing sold off it’s small collection of unique products to two different companies. Alex purchased their bath toys, and Cranium purchased their make-believe toys. This small acquisition for Cranium was the first signal that they were looking to branch out of the game category. Now, Cranium is on a roll, releasing 10 new make-believe toys, including several that they bought from Big Boing.

Giggle Gear is a collection of advanced dress-up toys, most incorporating technology to enhance the play value. My favorite are the Mega Mask sets. There are two – Robot-Bug-Alien and Fairy Fun. They’re sort of like a wearable Mr. Potato Head – kids assemble the masks from a variety of included parts, then wear them. They can use the included voice changer to create cool sound effects. Combine the sets for even more creative possibilities (The Fairy Robot from Mars, anyone?). They are recommended for ages 5 and up. Keep a camera close at hand – something tells me that these are almost as entertaining for the parents as they are for the kids.
