Equal Opportunity for Toddlers
Keeping warm on a cold day is never easy, but parents get to worry about it twice over, once for themselves and once for their kids. There are a lot of products on the market designed to keep babies warm in their strollers and/or car seats, but most of these are sized to fit babies and young toddlers, leaving older toddlers and preschoolers shivering in their boots, literally.I have a lot of favorites in this category. Last winter, I trailed a woman in Manhattan for two blocks to read the label on her beautiful (and LARGE) stroller bag, which led to my discovery of 7AM Enfant. But due to a production problem, those bags were not available for this season, which left us searching for a replacement. This quest led us to Mobile Moms and their Toasty Toddler, which is actually the original stroller bunting, designed by a New York mom in the ’90s (that’s the decade, not the neighborhood). These bags are sized to grow with your toddler; the extra-large will fit a child from 18 months to 4 years old. There are several varieties, and the quality is excellent. Already we’ve seen a great response from our customers, but we’re just glad that we can help the bigger babies stay warm, too.
If you’re shopping for one of these, you can also consider the incredibly well-designed Buggy Blanket by Brookspond, or for smaller babies and toddlers, JJ Cole’s wonderful BundleMe product line, especially the chic new Urban series. We still have very good stock in 7AM Enfant in smaller sizes, too.
Our store manager is actually working on a comparison chart, and as soon as it’s finished, we’ll post it on our website along with a link to it from here.
