Day 19: Lillebaby Nordic Carrier & Beaba Babycook Prize Pack

Day 19: Lillebaby Nordic Carrier & Beaba Babycook Prize Pack

Today’s prize package includes five items from Scandinavian Child, the distributors of European brands including Beaba and Lillebaby. Four products from French manufacturer Beaba form a comprehensive baby-feeding kit:

– The Beaba Babycook is the only appliance you’ll need to create nutritious homemade food for your baby: it steams, purees, and defrosts. All you need to add is some fresh veggies or fruit, and it’s dinnertime!

– The Beaba Babycook Book helps you create 85 delicious purees.

– The Beaba Multiportions Tray lets you freeze seven baby-sized portions of food, and is safe for your microwave and your dishwasher. And it’s shaped like a flower!

– The Beaba Babycook Bag is a special carrier for your Babycook, letting you whip up yummy treats for your baby on the go. The Bag’s rigid shell keeps your Babycook from getting jostled in transit, and an accessories pocket holds all the other odds and ends you’ll need to make baby food.

We’re also throwing in a Lillebaby Everywear Carrier, to boot (useful from infancy to 42 pounds, with six carrying positions).

In honor of this Eurocentric prize package, we searched out some information on international baby-feeding habits. Here are a few fun links:

Norwegian “Småfolk” jarred baby food sounds totally yummy, and what adorable packaging! Although I’m not sure if I would have chosen to put the cute reindeer on a jar full of reindeer meat.

Congee, or rice porridge, is a traditional first food in China. Initially it’s served plain, and later on, other pureed items can be added in. Grownups eat variations on congee as well.

In India, Hindus honor a child’s first solid meal with a ceremony called Annaprashan. A mixture of boiled rice, milk, and sugar is blessed, and then fed to the baby by a senior family member. Then, the rest of the family takes turns feeding the baby her first meal.

In Nigeria, babies eat pretty much the same foods that adults eat, with a focus on proteins. If you’re adventurous enough to try the included recipe, let us know how it turns out.

Enter to win the Scandinavian Child prize package today, and win products that will help you feed your baby no matter where you live!
