BOB Rambler vs BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 | Stroller Comparison
If you lead an active lifestyle and are expecting a child, jogging strollers seem like a natural choice. They allow you to continue to be active and bring your child along for the ride. But with so many brands now offering jogging options, how do you know which one is the best for your family?
While there may not be a one-size-fits-all best jogging stroller, there are some brands that offer higher quality options with more features on a more durable frame. One such brand is Britax which produces the BOB line of all terrain strollers. BOB stands for Beast of Burden, and BOB strollers definitely fit that description!
If you’ve been considering a BOB stroller, you may know that there are several models available. How do you know which is the right fit for you? We’re comparing the BOB Rambler and BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 so you can make an informed decision on which is right for your family.
Shared Features
The BOB Rambler and BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 are both jogging strollers from the same company, so naturally they have many features in common. Both strollers have three air filled tires with a 360° swiveling wheel in the front. This front wheel is also lockable for more stable jogging.
The seats of both joggers are quite similar, featuring a one-handed recline. The seats can be adjusted on the fly from fully upright to near-flat. The seats are exceptionally roomy, padded, and have an easy-clip no rethread five point harness to keep your little one secure and comfortable. Both strollers have an impressive weight capacity of 75 pounds so you can use them for longer than most strollers.
Both the BOB Rambler and BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 have seatback ventilation for additional comfort and airflow on those hot summer days. A large UPF 50+ sun canopy provides ample shade for summertime strolls.
The BOB Rambler and BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 share the same folding mechanism. This easy to fold mechanism allows you to fold the strollers without crouching down or bending over. Simply pull the triggers on the handlebar and let the handlebar swing over the seat, exposing the red handle on the seat back. Pull the handle and the rest of the stroller will collapse with ease. For storage in small spaces, the rear wheels can be removed to become a more compact fold.
Both strollers are compatible with infant car seats with adapters and can be used as a travel system for your convenience.
Both strollers have a foot activated rear parking brake that is flip-flop friendly for family trips to the beach.
BOB Rambler
The BOB Rambler is a lightweight, simplified version of the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0. Weighing 25.2 pounds, it is 3.3 pounds lighter compared to the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0. This makes it a little easier to tote along with you. It also has slightly smaller wheels, with rear wheels that have the same 12 inch diameter as the front wheel.
The BOB Rambler is a great option for families who want to take their child for strolls even on rough terrain and do a bit of light jogging as well. It doesn’t have some of the extra bells and whistles that the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 does, but it’s a wonderful all terrain option on a budget.
BOB Revolution Flex 3.0
The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 is the stroller of choice for experienced runners who will frequently be jogging with their child. Featuring large 16 inch diameter rear wheels, it takes uneven terrain and long runs in stride while providing premium stability. In addition to larger wheels, it also has an adjustable handlebar for a more customized and comfortable push.
The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 has more room for swag, with six additional storage pockets (including two on the side of your baby’s seat) for toys and snacks. Feel safer jogging at night with the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0’s reflective canopy and basket accents that ensure your nighttime visibility.
Overall, we recommend the BOB Rambler for active families who jog on occasion and prefer a lighter weight stroller with fewer bells and whistles. The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 is more suited to families who are very active and want to run with their child often or go on rougher trails and don’t mind having a slightly larger and heavier stroller in order to make that happen.
