This crib has three adjustable mattress heights. All height settings are sleep safe for a newborn though the shallower setting is best used only up until your baby is rolling over and beginning to sit upright. As a last stage this Pali Como Arch Forever Crib converts into a teenager-approved, full-size bed by removing the two short sides, adding on the Pali Como Full-Sized Bed Rails, and reattaching the front face of the crib, now acting now as a foot-board. A standard sized mattress is an excellent fit for all Pali cribs. All the spindles on the front and sides of the Pali Como Arch Forever Crib are relatively flat with rounded edges.
