NUNA AACE BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT
It’s a pretty epic day for us here at Magic Beans: along with the debut of the Nuna Rava Convertible Car Seat, we’re unveiling the Nuna Aace Booster Seat as well! Like the Rava, and like the rest of the Nuna collection, the Aace takes a product that every parent needs and makes it just a little bit better.
Before we go into detail about the Aace, let’s start from the beginning and review the purpose of a booster seat. As you may know, boosters are required in many states (including Massachusetts) for passengers up to 4’9” in height, because safety belts in cars are made to fit adult bodies, and won’t provide proper protection for someone who is shorter. To understand why this is so crucial, let’s talk a little bit about what safety belts are made to do.
You probably haven’t given seat belts much thought prior to having kids, but they’re really quite carefully designed: they do so much more than keeping you from hitting the windshield or the seat in front of you in a collision. First of all, the two belt sections (the lap belt and the shoulder belt) are strategically placed to apply their stopping force to the strongest parts of the body: the rib cage and pelvis. Second of all, the webbing is strategically designed to stretch just a tiny bit, altering how the force of the collision is received by your body. Finally: the belt is designed to lock firmly in place in the event of a collision. This combination goes a very long way to reducing injury.
So it matters a lot how that belt lines up to the human body, and that’s what a booster seat is for: it ensures that the belt is precisely located to keep your kid safe. However, booster seats like the Nuna Aace Belt-Positioning Booster add even more to the package.
A high-backed booster is better because:
- The belt positioner on the Aace and similar seats will help to ensure that the belt is routed correctly and minimize user error.
- The 9-position height-adjustable headrest of the Aace booster provides head support and side-impact protection.
You can use the Nuna Aace Booster Seat without the back, which may be easier if you need to travel with your booster or just switch it from car to car if you’re carpooling, but use the back if you can! It’s just better.
The Aace has one unique feature that boosts it up with the best of the competition: the 3D Growth System. Kids don’t just get taller as they grow: they get wider, and their proportions change. So in order to ensure a safe and comfortable fit with no fuss, the designers at Nuna joined together the headrest and the shoulder system on the Aace, so as you raise the headrest, the shoulders widen too. Neat, huh? The seat also has three depths, so you can customize the fit whether your kid is petite or lanky.
There’s a lot more to say about the Aace, and Eli says a lot of it in our video review, on our Youtube channel:
We expect these new arrivals from Nuna to be big sellers, given how much our customers (and our staff!) love the Nuna Pipa, the Nuna Leaf, their awesome strollers, and the rest of the collection. The Aace is available NOW and the Rava is coming soon to a Magic Beans near you, so come check them out!
