The Summertime Baby (Bjorn) Blues
It’s summer, which is mostly good news. But if you’re toting around a newborn in a Baby Bjorn, chances are you’re driving yourself nuts about the sun. Infants younger than 6 months are not able to wear sunscreen, so keeping little babies from catching too many rays can be maddeningly difficult. Short of staying in the shade all the time, or risking an uncomfortable sunburn, there isn’t too much you can do.
So it was very clever of a local company called Baby Capes to create a UV-protective cover for the Baby Bjorn. The capes are lightweight and breathable to keep baby cool, and they attach quickly and easily onto a baby carrier, or even a stroller or infant car seat. According to the company’s website, the fabric blocks 98% of the sun’s rays. So go ahead and hit the beach.
