The party-which-must-not-be-named
Unless you’re living under a rock, you probably already know that the 7th Harry Potter book will ago on sale at midnight on Friday night. If you’re local to Boston, I hope you’ll come to Coolidge Corner for Potterpalooza. Unfortunately, due to a bit of a fracas with Warner Bros, I can’t say too much about the event here, but trust me – it’s going to be great. Many local business owners came together to organize an after-dark, family-friendly party to celebrate the book’s release. The event is a fund raiser for the Brookline Teen Center Fund.
Like many of the local businesses, Magic Beans will be open until midnight, though we are not selling the book. We’ll have in-store entertainment, courtesy of Jungle Jim’s, and plenty of magical merchandise, including licensed Harry Potter costumes and accessories.
The festivities start at 8pm, but come early and have dinner first. Many of the area restaurants will have Potter-themed specials. Start at the Coolidge Corner Arcade building (just two doors down from our store) and pick up a map with a listing of all the activities for the evening. The Brookline Booksmith will begin taking prepayment for the books at 9pm. It should be a memorable night.
