The Nuna Pipa Lite LX Infant Car Seat
Meet the newest contender for lightweight champion: the Nuna Pipa Lite LX! Over the past year in the baby gear world, we’ve noticed a growing trend in customization. Parents want gear that fits their lives perfectly, and brands are giving them lots of options in return. Nuna is following suit with three different options for an infant car seat! Here’s what differentiates the LX from its Pipa counterparts.
Weight: To weigh just 5.7 pounds, the Pipa Lite LX has the same revolutionary shell as the Pipa Lite. Nuna uses a fusion of plastic and EPP foam to create a thin, lightweight, and ultra resilient seat. Aeroflex foam minimizes force by absorbing and diffusing energy. In other words? Super safe and super light. The Pipa Lite LX weighs 0.4lbs more than the Pipa Lite and 2lbs less than the original Nuna Pipa.
Fabrics: Nuna really pulled out all the stops with this one. Like the Pipa Lite, your baby will rest easy with a TailorTech memory foam headrest behind them. But the Lite’s fabrics got an upgrade—the Merino wool and TENCEL lyocell fiber blend is naturally soft, controls moisture, and is environmentally friendly. A naturally flame retardant infant car seat, the Pipa Lite LX is not chemically treated whatsoever.
Canopy: The #1 question you all had when the Pipa Lite released was, “Where’s the DreamDrape?!” Well, here it is! And Nuna has made some improvements to it too. The DreamDrape is now larger, offering more coverage and privacy for baby. It’s also easier to use, as you can more clearly see where each magnet is located. The Pipa Lite LX also has a UPF 50+ canopy with a flip out eyeshade for when baby wants a better view.
Base: The Pipa Series Base included with the Pipa Lite LX hasn’t changed. It offers the quick and easy install that we’ve all come to adore. It also has a stability leg to absorb impact and minimize force to baby. However the Pipa Lite LX can only be installed (in a car or plane) WITH the base, so it’s a great choice for families traveling by car.
