Skip Hop wows with bright ideas
Skip Hop was showing off a ton of new products at the ABC Show, including one that’s jaw-dropping in its brillance and simplicity. Crib bumpers have been the subject of some scrutiny this year, and many parents are looking for alternatives. To answer this, Skip Hop created the Complete Sheet – a sheet that has a simple pattern on the top, but a lovely design on the sides of the sheet, so it give the illusion of a bumper. Very smart and very cool.
Speaking of smart, their new Paci Egg is a sphere-shaped pacifier holder that can clip to your stroller or diaper bag. When your baby drops the pacifier, you can put it into the Paci Egg with a little bit of water and toss it in the microwave to sterilize it.
Skip Hop showed some really nice new bath toys, including the fabulous Soapster, a penguin-shaped soap dispenser that turns any soap into foamy goodness, saving money and sending the fun quotient of bathtime right through the roof.
They also showed off an adorable new Play Spot with zoo animal faces, and a whole line of their classic diaper bags featuring gorgeous patterns designed by the talented Jonathan Adler.
Even with all these amazing new products, the best part of touring the Skip Hop booth was getting to spend some time with two of my favorite people in the industry. Ellen and Michael Diamant started Skip Hop just a year before we opened Magic Beans. We’ve watched them grow their business from a single diaper bag to an international company with hundreds of products in their catalog. Their success is hard earned and well deserved. It literally could not have happened to nicer people.
