Riding in style

Flyer - CosmoThe 2006 Bumbleride collection is out, and these are some very pretty strollers. The fabrics are so sophisticated they seem almost ahead of their time. But not quite. The new and improved Flyer is the most eagerly anticipated of the ’06 lineup, and demand is so high that availability will be somewhat limited for the next few months. The team at Bumbleride has made some substantial improvements to the design, decreasing the size and weight, while adding individually locking wheels to vastly improve the steering.

Bumbleride made a splash when they debuted last year with their fashion-forward fabrics and feature-rich strollers. Best of all, these strollers are reasonably priced (relatively speaking). The Flyer is certainly an excellent alternative to the Peg Perego Venezia.

The Rocket, which is Bumbleride’s all-terrain stroller, is every bit as fancy looking as the Flyer, but the handling is noticably different from other, more expensive models in this category. The center of gravity feels a bit higher and the steering is less responsive. It’s still worth considering, though, since it’s loaded with nice extras, like a footmuff, universal car seat adaptor, and a cupholder. Like a very cute pair of shoes, this just may be worth the sacrifice.
