Operation Santa – Massachusetts
Want to have some family football fun, and raise some money for a good cause, too? On Saturday, December 10, the Ahern Family Charitable Foundation will be hosting its eighth annual Army-Navy football luncheon to support Operation Santa of Massachusetts. The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation raises money for organizations that provide services for veterans, current U.S. military troops, and their kids, and they’ve raised over $350,000 so far, which has provided everything from financial grants and scholarships to lodging for families visiting their wounded or injured loved ones.
During the holiday season, the Ahern foundation partners with Operation Santa of Massachusetts to provide holiday gift cards and support to children of deployed National Guard and Reserve members, and to children who have lost a parent in the Iraq/Afghanistan War.
In addition to viewing the Army-Navy football game, guests at the Army-Navy football luncheon fundraiser can partake in a buffet, family-friendly activities, and commemorative coins for the first 500 entrants. During halftime, New England Cable News Meteorologist Matt Noyes will conduct a live auction to accompany the silent auction and raffle.
This is a chance for you and your family to have some fun together, watch two rivals battle it out, and help raise money for a pretty amazing cause. And there will be stars in attendance! Guests will include legendary New England Patriot Quarterback Steve Grogan, former New England Patriot Max Lane, ESPNBoston.com baseball writer Gordon Edes, WBZ TV news anchor Jonathan Elias, and more.
The luncheon will be held at Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grille at the Holiday Inn in Woburn. Doors open at 1:00PM and the football game kicks-off at 2:30PM. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 with a military ID, and $10 for persons under 21. Tickets are available online at www.ahernfoundation.org or by calling 617-212-1508.
