National Get Organized Month

Every January, many people resolve to be more organized in the coming year. So it’s no surprise that January is National Get Organized (GO) Month. By now, January is almost over and in case you’re still trying to get some traction with organization, we have some great tips to keep you on track this year.

Getting overwhelmed is usually part of this process – not knowing what to keep, where to keep it, how to maintain it, can make an IBM processor overload. So, how are we humans supposed to run our systems smoothly?

1. Online Calendars

An online calendar helps you stay current no matter where you are. Not only can you schedule alerts that get sent directly to your inbox, but you can also keep tabs on the rest of your family by sharing calendars with one another. We love Google Calendars.

2. Schedule some organize-time in your day

With kids running around and a bazillion things to do before dinner, it’s tough to make sure everything is in its place. Plan a time each day, even if it’s only 15 minutes, to put things where they need to be. Get the kids to help, too.

3. Help your children stay organized on their own. As a parent, you learn quickly that kids aren’t born knowing how to be organized. They learn from watching you.  Oftentimes it’s easier to do it yourself than to spend the time begging your children to do it. These products make it easy for kids to sort and stash their own stuff:
