Monte Knows Best: The Monte Como Glider is the perfect nursing chair

It’s no surprise that Monte Designs is sweeping the baby furniture world. Every piece of their furniture is sustainably crafted in Canada, and their nursing chairs are phenomenal! My personal favorite is the Monte Como Glider. I’ve almost fallen asleep in it multiple times… during work… oops! I’m telling you, you will never get sick of this chair. Monte makes a point to design each chair beautifully in a way that makes it a pleasant addition to any room.

The Como Glider’s armrests are the perfect height for breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding, and I have had women of all heights sit in it and feel comfortable, so don’t worry if you’re especially tall. The cushion lining the back of the chair is plush and super comfortable, and the ergonomic high back has adequate neck and head support for Mom or Dad. The cushion is filled with low-VOC foam and made with seed-based oils, so even within the chair itself, toxicity is of zero concern.

Like any nursing chair should, the Como Glider rocks with perfect smoothness along its walnut base, using Monte’s custom steel mechanisms, which use 95% recycled steel. The durable microfiber fabric on the glider is easily spot-cleaned, and the back cushion comes out if you ever spill a bottle of milk (among other things). A lumbar pillow for proper back support is included, free of charge.

When it comes to color choices, the base of the glider is a solid walnut wood; it’s not all that easy to see, so I don’t think it will have much of an effect on your color preference. The two upholstery color choices are “sand” – a light crème or wheat color – and “pebble” – an elegant light grey. All the Monte Design fabrics are Oeko-Tek Certified, meaning that they undergo the highest levels of toxicity testing before being shipped to your door.
