Is that a tray for a Stokke Tripp Trapp??

Is that a tray for a Stokke Tripp Trapp??

playtrayWhy yes, it is. For about as long as the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair has been in existence, American parents have been begging for a tray. Stokke has resisted, saying that the whole point of a Tripp Trapp is to bring children right up to the table, and adding tray would have the opposite effect. So we have dodged, swept, vacuumed and mopped through the messy eating phase that inevitably accompanies early toddlerhood, left to contemplate the apparently immaculate table manners of Norwegian babies. Or we’ve bought other high chairs that DO come with a tray.

But finally, an enterprising Danish company has developed the Playtray, a plastic tray that will fit onto the Tripp Trapp chair. We haven’t been able to see a sample, but that hasn’t dampened our enthusiasm. The tray slides easily on and off the chair without damaging the paint or finish. It is constructed in Denmark of high-quality plastic that is BPA- and phthalate-free. We are taking pre-orders now, and the Playtray, which will retail for around $90, is scheduled to arrive near the end of July.

My dog will never forgive me.
