How’s your poker face?

At Toy Fair, we picked up a sample of Spy Alley, a game that is not new, but we’d heard great things about it. The reputation is well-deserved – I thought it was a really nice game. Very well thought out and unique, fun to play and appealing to a wide age range. Although it is rated for ages 8 and up, our group of teens and adults had a great time.

Basically, each player is assigned a Spy identity. This must be kept secret while the players navigate the board trying to collect and purchase items from their Spy’s country of origin. The tricky part is that since everyone can see your items, you need to collect things from other countries to throw off your opponents and protect your identity. If someone correctly guesses your country of origin, you’re out of the game, and the person who guessed takes all your stuff — and can choose to assume your identity.
