Bugaboo Bee5 vs Bugaboo Ant | Stroller Comparison

Bugaboo Bee5 vs Bugaboo Ant | Stroller Comparison

Whether you live in a busy city (hello, fellow Bostonians!) or are traveling to some far-flung locale (I hear that Athens is lovely this time of year…), you need a lightweight stroller that’ll be able to keep up with you and your family. Thankfully, Bugaboo has two strollers that are up to the challenge: the Bugaboo Bee5 and the Bugaboo Ant.

THE BUGABOO BEE5 VS. THE BUGABOO ANT

While the Bugaboo Bee5 has been a perennial favorite for years (it was first introduced in 2007, and is still going strong!), the Bugaboo Ant is a relative newcomer to the lightweight stroller market. However, both of these Bugaboo strollers have a strong fanbase. Many parents swear by the adjustable handlebars of the Bugaboo Bee5, or by the practically-microscopic size of the Bugaboo Ant, but all of that talk is irrelevant when it comes to the most important question at hand: which of these strollers is best for your family? Let us help you find out!

At first glance, the similarities between the Bugaboo Bee5 and the Bugaboo Ant seem to be few and far between. The  Bee5, though a lightweight stroller (it clocks in at 19.62 lbs!), is not nearly as small in stature as the Ant, which weighs in at 15.8 lbs and is more physically compact. This size disparity between these two strollers finds its origin in the fact that the Ant was expressly created to fit into the overhead compartment of an airplane, making it an ideal travel stroller, while the Bee5 was designed as a very lightweight all-purpose stroller. As a result, the Bee5 has more features (better full-recline capabilities! Adjustable handlebars! Adjustable footrest and backrest for your growing child!) than the Ant, and the Ant is far easier to maneuver while traveling than the Bee5 would be.

BUGABOO FEATURES

All this being said, both the Bee5 and the Ant actively showcase our favorite Bugaboo design features. Both have reversible seating capabilities, as well as an extendable canopy. Plus, each stroller is easy to fold down and can stand alone when folded. In short, they’re both great strollers; the Bee5 is just better when it comes to everyday use, while the Ant is better for intensive travel.

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
