Babyzen Yoyo+ vs Silver Cross Jet Stroller 2019

TRAVEL STROLLER COMPARISON

Okay, let’s talk incredibly compact, overhead accessible travel strollers. Previous to mid-2018, whenever a customer was interested in an easy-to-use, small-scale travel stroller, I could guarantee that the BabyZen Yoyo+ was one of the strollers on their minds. Upon the introduction of the Silver Cross Jet, there was (and still is) a significant amount of popularity due to its sleek and ultra small design; the Yoyo now has an extremely compatible competitor!

The main appeal of the Yoyo is its innovative, tri-fold closure that has stolen the hearts of many parents, both past and present. Its main strength, however, is its extremely light 13 pound weight. The Babyzen Yoyo+ has been branded as one of the lightest travel strollers on the US market. This stroller is suitable from birth to 40 pounds, with the use of its plush bassinet option.

This stroller was last updated in 2017, so you can ensure all of its features are current and modern. Some improved features that are worth noting include a tougher frame and suspension, an XL basket, padded seat and strap covers and an improved rain cover (which comes with the stroller!).

The Silver Cross Jet makes travel a breeze with remarkable qualities such as its inventive closing style and flip-flop friendly braking system. The Jet also weighs in at 13 pounds, which is one of the main reasons why it is comparable to the Yoyo. The Jet comes infant-ready when it is taken out the box and no additional bassinet is required as it features a recline-flat seat. The Jet offers a fully extendable UPF 50+ canopy that provides great coverage on sunny days.

One of the key things to notice is the Yoyo’s bassinet inlay that is required to make the stroller suitable from birth; otherwise, the introductory age is six months or when baby can fully sit up on their own.  The Silver Cross Jet does not offer a bassinet but rather a built in from birth option. These strollers both offer the option of connecting an infant car seat with adapters. Some primary examples include the Nuna Pipa series and the Cybex Cloud Q and Aton Q. Both models offer a maximum weight of 40 pounds and offer an extra large area for the under basket.

There is a slight price difference; the Yoyo begins at $499 while the Jet starts at $349. One of the main things customers notice between the two is the increased height on the Babyzen Yoyo Stroller 2019. The Yoyo’s maximum handlebar height measures to be 42 inches while the Jet comes in at 38 inches. The Yoyo also offers a few extra storage compartments while the Jet provides solely the under basket. However, the Jet is slightly narrower by about five inches in width and offers a canopy window for viewing your little one!

All in all, the Yoyo and Jet are two of the most comparable travel strollers hot on the market. Either way, you cannot go wrong!

Hello, my dayghter will be soon 5 months and we are looking for a stroller that we can use everyday and when travelling (specially by planes).

Thus, I have 2 questions.

1) For the everyday use, to take her to the daycare for example and back to work and to go to coffes and restaurantes…what would be your reccomendation? Taking into consideration that we will mainly walk and/or use public transport.

2) For travelling (airplane/train), can both fit as cabin luggages? which is the most easy to handle? Also, we normally travel to cities that can have some challeging terrain/landscape, so we need a stroller that can take the challeange, rsrs!

In addition, if we choose the yoyo, as she is already 5 months and 7kg, do you think we still need the newborn set ?

For last, just as a note when we go out with the car, or if we need a stroller more “important” we will use our uppabbay cruz, that goes with our uppababy car seat :)

Thank you very much in advance.

Best,

Clara
