Baby Jogger City Select Lux vs Bugaboo Donkey 2017 Stroller (comparison | reviews | ratings | prices)

Having two children to push around is absolutely a blessing. But with a stroller that’s not the perfect fit for your lifestyle, you could run into daily frustrations. Double the trouble should only refer to mischievous twins and not your experience with choosing their stroller! The Baby Jogger City Select Lux is a new model that we’re excited about, and the Bugaboo Donkey 2017 is a model we’ve really come to love. Either of these versatile single-to-double strollers could be your match!

The big difference between these two models is their double stroller configuration. The City Select Lux is inline, while the Bugaboo Donkey is side-by-side. An inline stroller may seem like the space saving option, but both types can really benefit certain families. A side-by-side stroller like the Donkey gives children more reclining flexibility. If your child is napping in an inline stroller, they’re pretty limited regarding how far they can recline.

You’ll find that a side-by-side stroller is easier to push as well. Inline strollers like the City Select Lux are longer and can make for wider turns and a more uneven push. However, with the City Select Lux, your babies can be configured to face each other. Some parents really love that feature! The Donkey also isn’t as monstrous as it seems. In its duo (or double) position, it’s actually only 28.5 inches wide and can fit through your home’s standard door! Side-by-side strollers can be deceiving in their width, so be sure to always check measurements.

The weight limit of each seat on the Baby Jogger City Select Lux is 45 pounds, while the Donkey’s are 37.5. However by the time many children are as heavy as 45 pounds, they’ll be out walking beside you. Many children also grow in height before weight, so they could even outgrow their stroller by that time anyways! It all depends on your preference.

Where will you be putting your stroller at the end of most days? In your trunk? Wheeling into your garage? One feature Baby Jogger has added to the City Select Lux is its foldable seats, which make for a really compact fold that’s trunk friendly. The Bugaboo Donkey is certainly easy to fold, but can take up more space at the end of the day. We suggest scheduling a test drive and seeing how they both fit in your car and life!
