1000 toys in 1 day?
We just got an email:
“I’m involved in helping a 100% volunteer run Boston-based charity that hosts an event (www.christmasinthecity.org) for 3000 homeless children and hands out toys to an additional 4000-5000 children. The demand this year was overwhelming and we may come up 1000-1500 toys short.
I’m calling area toy stores to see if they could donate 1,5,10,100 toys, really anything you can do. We have a deadline of tomorrow at midnight to receive product donations so please let us know ASAP if you can help.”
Is it possible? Can we really help them collect 1000 toys in 25 hours?
We can try.
How can you help?
1. Come into our stores before 4pm tomorrow and buy a toy to donate. Let us know it’s for Christmas in the City.
2. Buy a gift card online. Let us know in the order notes that it’s for Christmas in the City and choose “In Store Pickup” for your shipping.
3. If you have a new, unwrapped toy sitting around begging to be donated, bring it to any of our stores before tomorrow at 4pm.
Instead of doing a discount on donated toys, we will match up to $1000 in donations, so your gift will go twice as far. And we’ll make sure they get their toys before midnight tomorrow.
